About us

7-Eleven Australia is locally operated, with approximately 750 stores across Victoria, NSW, ACT, QLD and Western Australia.    There are more than 450 small family-owned businesses in the 7-Eleven franchise network.  Approximately 9,000 Australians work under the 7-Eleven brand, employed directly by 7-Eleven or indirectly through franchised stores,  and these teams serve an average of seven customers every second across Australia.

Our community partners

We work with some extraordinary organisations to support programs to help Australians in need and the communities we're proud to be part of. We focus on food, migrants, youth and our local communities. We help those who are experiencing food insecurity, new migrants struggling to settle in our community, young people who need mental health support and locally based organisations who help people experiencing homelessness. Our community partners are AMES Australia, ReachOut and The Salvation Army Australia.

Work with us

Our people are at the core at everything we do. The efforts of our teams make the ordinary moments extraordinary for our customers and living our values is what enables us to succeed.

Our franchisees

We’re lucky to work with hundreds of passionate franchisees who make our brand what it is. While our franchise offer helps families build their own businesses, as one of Australia's most iconic brands, each 7-Eleven store also plays an essential role within the local community.

Our leaders

The 7-Eleven senior leadership team set the organisation’s strategic direction and purpose, ensuring the company maintains its position as Australia’s first choice in convenience retailing.

Our history

After more than 47 years of private ownership, on 1 April 2024 we joined the 7-Eleven International family. 7-Eleven Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of 7-Eleven International. 7-Eleven Australia will continue to be headquartered in and managed from Melbourne.

Our founders, the Withers and Barlow families, were in the grocery and grocery wholesale business dating back to 1919. In 1976, with an eye on emerging retail trends, they signed the area license agreement to bring the 7-Eleven brand to Australia, opening the first store in Oakleigh, Victoria in 1977.
