25 March 2020
We’re committed to working with our franchisees, store leaders and store teams to provide essential services and supplies to our community. We’re here for you 24/7, whatever you need. Our focus is on caring for our people and our communities and doing our bit to help make essential supplies available to people.
Everyone’s health, safety and wellbeing is our highest priority.
On March 19 we confirmed that we will be looking after team members impacted by COVID-19 no matter whether they are full-time, part-time or casual with a COVID-19 Special Leave initiative.
The COVID-19 Special Leave initiative provides up to two weeks leave for all casual employees (franchise, COHO and support office) where they have tested positive, or need to care for someone who has contracted COVID-19. We have also implemented an initiative to extend sick and/or carers leave to all full time and part time employees (franchise, COHO and support office) should they have insufficient leave balances available and have been advised by a medical professional to self-isolate or have tested positive for COVID-19. 7-Eleven will cover the cost of both leave initiatives
We’ll also redirect resources as needed so stores have the people they need.
This is not only the right thing to do, it is also an important and responsible response to the Australian government’s advice.
We’ve made sure our store leaders and team members know we are fully behind them to give them the support they need to get on with the job of serving the community. We are also supporting our franchisees and will continue to look at what else may be needed as we work through this situation together.
